As the Project Manager for England Ecosystem Services project, you will play the leading role managing the delivery of work and in managing the 5 staff supporting the running of the project. You will be accountable for the successful (scientifically and financially) and efficient delivery of the project, directing and mentoring colleagues as appropriate.
What you’ll be doing:
* Lead on Natural England and Defra projects taking accountability of delivery milestones
* Developing project plans, maintaining risk and RAIS logs
* Lead on regular cadence calls and communication, including regular reporting for stakeholders
* Provide management and leadership to a small team of coordinators
* Manage relationship with sub-0contracts, negotiating timelines and costings
* Ensuring projects are running on time, and to budget, flagging risks where appropriate
* Develop and maintain contingency plans
* Lead on problem resolution and continuous improvement
* You’ll lead and inspire colleagues across the organisation to identify and develop new proposals, products/services, product or process improvements and/or areas of research.
* Contributing to the development a strategic growth plan for your areas of expertise and lead on developing persuasive, accurately costed proposals
What we’re looking for:
* You’ll have demonstrable experience as an established project manager with a track record of successfully delivering projects to time and budget.
* Leadership and/or team management experience
* Excellent customer centric skills and the ability to effectively communicate to a variety if audiences.
* The ability to hold key contributors to account, ensuring smooth delivery.
* The ability to persuade and influence stakeholders
* Experience working with budgets and key milestones
* Experience in development effective and comprehendible reporting for clients and internal stakeholders
