An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paramedic Practitioner to join a forward-thinking and patient-focused healthcare team in Crawley. This role is ideal for a dedicated and autonomous clinician looking to make a real impact on community healthcare by delivering high-quality care both in clinical settings and through home visits.
About the Role:
As a Paramedic Practitioner, the successful candidate will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, providing urgent and routine care to patients in the local community. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing a variety of conditions, both acute and chronic, while working collaboratively with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. A key aspect of the role includes home visits, ensuring that patients who are unable to attend the practice receive timely and effective care in their own environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conducting home visits to assess, treat, and support patients in their own homes, ensuring high standards of care.
2. Managing acute and long-term conditions, offering treatment, advice, and follow-up care.
3. Taking autonomous clinical responsibility for patients, including making referrals and escalating cases where necessary.
4. Providing advanced clinical assessment and treatment, including the ability to work within a prescribing framework if qualified.
5. Supporting patients with self-care and long-term condition management, promoting health and well-being.
6. Working collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, and other allied health professionals to provide integrated patient care.
7. Keeping up to date with clinical guidelines, best practices, and advancements in urgent and primary care.
Requirements & Qualifications
1. HCPC-registered Paramedic with relevant experience in urgent care, primary care, or community settings.
2. Hold or be working towards a relevant postgraduate qualification (e.g., MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, Paramedic Practitioner, or equivalent).
3. Independent Prescribing qualification (desirable but not essential, with training support available).
4. Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills with the ability to work autonomously.
5. A passion for delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced and evolving healthcare environment.
6. Full UK driving license to facilitate home visits.
