Caridon Foundation provides supported accommodation in Brent, Croydon and Harlow. Under our provision we are required to provide care, support, and one-to-one supervision on a weekly ongoing basis, conducting specific key work sessions based on a person-centred approach. We are committed to working in line with Housing Benefit Regulations and Quality Assurance Framework (QAF).
We are passionate about our tenants and the communities in which they live. Our aim is to provide housing to individuals who are unable to secure accommodation without support, and then support them throughout their tenancy to become fully independent.
Job title: Housing Support Officer
Salary: £25,900 - 28,000
Location: Croydon
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm or 10am to 6pm
Contract type: Full-time
The role
The role involves supporting tenants to achieve their housing and personal goals through tailored Personal Housing Plans and risk assessments. Key responsibilities include:
1. Weekly client contact
2. Assisting with tenancy management
3. Budgeting and income maximisation
4. Addressing debt and rent arrears
5. Facilitating repairs
6. Conducting property and health and safety inspections
7. Ensuring regular review of risk assessments and support plans
8. Collaboration with external agencies
9. Addressing antisocial behaviour
10. Promoting well-being and implementing harm reduction strategies
11. Creating realistic housing move-on plans
12. Managing tenancy breakdowns through referrals to relevant stakeholders
13. Adherence to confidentiality, data protection, and organizational policies
14. Flexibility to handle ad hoc tasks and team support as needed
15. Compiling monthly statistics and maintaining service standards

What are we looking for?
* Ability to listen and communicate effectively
* Good written communication and numeracy skills
* Basic IT skills
* Full clean UK Driving License
* Knowledge of Housing Legislation
* Experience working in housing and providing services to social housing residents
* Experience building strong partnerships with agencies like social services, police and local authority
