Job overview
The hours are to be worked Monday to Friday, however, there is an expectation of flexibility which could include Saturday.

The post holder will be expected to work independently, enhancing performance and productivity, streamlining administrative processes and will also look at areas in both your own and wider teams where service improvement is required and work with key people to deliver this.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of staff within the RTT Elective Access Team and ensure the day to day operational running of the department is smooth.
The post holder will be required to meet frequently with speciality management teams, robustly tracking patients to improve and maintain performance and help Directorates in the delivery of diagnostic and 18 weeks’ services in line with service requirements and local/national policies.
The post holder will support the Head of Elective Access in the operational delivery and performance management of surgical, medical and community admin services ensuring key access targets are maintained and sustained.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic team player with excellent customer care and interpersonal skills.
* You will have previous experience of managing teams and developing and delivering training to a diverse audience together with NHS knowledge and experience. Experience of Medway (PAS) and knowledge of the Trust’s Elective Access Policy would be an advantage.
* Deputise for the Head of Elective Access as required.
* Development of management teams and booking and administration teams who will lead the patient journey improving processes and patient experience.
* Training and development of the teams regarding their knowledge and IT capability.
* Supporting service improvement through analysis of data and undertaking capacity and demand analysis of services to support the delivery of the diagnostic, 18-week RTT and cancer targets.

Qualifications
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
* Management qualification or equivalent knowledge
Previous Experience
* Detailed understanding and experience of the operation of acute hospital services, in particular, knowledge of performance management.
* Evidence of driving and supporting change in clinical services in a complex organisation.
* Detailed knowledge and experience of NHS access standards including RTT, cancer and diagnostics.
* Proven ability to manage resources effectively.
* Performance management and development of staff.
* Experience of commissioning.
* Well-developed leadership and motivational skills.
* Capacity to work in multi-professional environments and maintain constructive working relationships at all levels and disciplines.
* Ability to achieve demanding tasks and objectives against deadlines.
* Evidence of personal insight and sound judgement.
