Role Overview:
As the Legal IT Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering IT training to all firm members, ensuring that they have the knowledge and skills necessary to maximize the use of software systems and IT tools in their daily work. You will play a key role in helping the firm stay up-to-date with the latest software updates, legal technologies, and digital tools.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct IT training needs analysis across the firm, identifying skill gaps and designing appropriate training programs.
* Deliver training on a variety of core systems and software, including Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other O365 applications), Practice Management Systems (PMS), Document Management Systems (DMS), digital dictation tools, and other legal software.
* Be curious about the software, technology and opportunities in the firm.
* Provide both classroom and informal one-on-one training to staff and Partners, ensuring knowledge retention and application.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive training materials, such as user guides, manuals, and training exercises.
* Evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions and monitor staff progress, providing additional support where necessary.
* Stay updated on new technologies and developments in legal software and systems, ensuring the firm is equipped with the best tools.
* Participate in software testing, new software evaluations, and provide feedback for improvement.
* Maintain accurate records of training activities and staff progress.
* Provide assistance to the IT support team and collaborate with other departments as needed.
* Be proactive in identifying opportunities for process improvements to increase the efficiency of the firm’s IT training programs.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Desirable experience in training situations, ideally, but not exclusively as an IT Trainer.
* Desirable experience of working in a legal or professional services environment.
* Strong knowledge of IT systems and software used within the legal industry, including MS Office, PMS, DMS, and legal software applications.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear, understandable manner.
* Experience designing and delivering engaging training programs to different learning styles.
* Ability to assess training needs and tailor content to suit diverse audiences.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple training projects simultaneously.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous professional development.
* Familiarity with training management software and performance tracking systems is a plus.
