Bookkeeper

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a reputable Practice. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, enjoys working with numbers, and has a passion for maintaining accurate financial records.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Managing financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
* Working on payroll, preparing invoices, and managing ledger accounts.
* Reconciling bank statements and calculating VAT returns.
* Assisting with budget preparation and preparing monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets.
* Maintaining historical records by filing documents.
* Ensuring legal compliance by following policies and procedures and enforcing adherence to requirements.
* Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven bookkeeping experience.
* Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
* Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
* Data entry skills with a knack for numbers.
* Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
* Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
* High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
* AAT qualification or similar is desirable but not essential.
