Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate person to join our Prepare Well Orthopaedic Team. The team provides an innovative service to individuals awaiting and undergoing orthopaedic surgery, primarily joint replacements and supports them in making positive health and lifestyle choices in preparation for this.
As an Occupational Therapist in the team, you will work within a dynamic multiprofessional team that includes physiotherapists, dietitians and rehabilitation coaches, providing occupation focused education sessions to groups and on an individual basis. The post works across a variety of locations such as leisure centres, individuals homes and hospital sites and also offers virtual sessions.
Applicants will have relevant qualifications to the role and knowledge of health promotion, orthopaedic conditions and experience of group facilitation. They will have experience in health promotion type activities and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience of groups delivery, data collection and audit are desirable.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of the new Prepare Well Orthopaedic interdisciplinary team to support service users in the community.
Delivery of occupation focused group based activities or 1:1 interventions in multiple locations across Cardiff and the Vale.
Delivery of online groups.
Ability to work autonomously and confidently to the top of licence as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist along side AHP colleagues.
Supporting the implementation of service development and improvement.
