Dunbar Education is proud to collaborate with a specialised Secondary SEN programme that is seeking an experienced and compassionate Barber to lead barbering courses within their on-site beauty salon. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by teaching practical barbering skills to young individuals with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and behavioural challenges. A non-judgmental and patient approach is essential in this role, as you'll be guiding students through hands-on skill-building while fostering confidence and personal growth in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging, hands-on barbering sessions tailored to the needs and abilities of students with SEMH and behavioural challenges.
* Create a safe, welcoming, and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to learn and develop new skills.
* Model and teach basic barbering techniques, from cutting and styling to grooming.
* Adapt teaching approaches and maintain patience, ensuring that each student receives personalised instruction.
* Build positive relationships with students, approaching each individual with understanding and empathy.
* Work closely with school staff to align course objectives with the programme's broader educational and therapeutic goals.
Qualifications:
* Demonstrable experience in barbering.
* Ability to communicate barbering techniques in a clear, accessible way.
* Compassionate, non-judgemental approach suited to working with young individuals with SEMH needs.
* Active DBS check on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
