Job summary
Part Time & Full Time Contracts Available!
We are looking to expand our Transcription team and recruit some new Transcriptionists. Our Team receive dictations from clinical staff working primarily with patients accessing mental health services. We type or proof read and edit these dictations and add the finished script to the patient's medical record, ready for the clinician to validate.
Our Transcriptionists work from their own homes, and we currently have positions available to cover various shifts across our weekly rotas. Our team provides a 24 hour service so we would love to hear from applicants who are able to commit to one or two nightshifts per week, alongside some daytime hours. The shifts available range from 4 to 10 hours in length and we could accommodate applicants who are looking for either full or part-time positions.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the job:
1. Audio typing (at least 50wpm)
2. Proof reading
3. Use of our patient information system (Rio) and other systems to save data into patient records
4. Shift work
Ideally, you will have experience of working in the NHS, be able to work both independently and as part of a team, with a good understanding of English grammar and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook. Accuracy, dedication and flexibility are essential as this is a 24/7 service operating 365 days per year with set turnaround times for work and high quality standards.
Although our Transcriptionists are home workers, the Team Leads regularly work from Monkwearmouth Hospital in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, so applicants must be able to travel to this site for interview, to collect and return equipment, and for meetings / other ad hoc reasons as needed. We anticipate a maximum of 4 visits to site per year but this could vary, therefore the ability to travel here independently is essential. Applicants must have space within their home to allow comfortable, effective and safe home working.
