In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.
The purpose of this role is to support all aspects of engineering and operational performance through active involvement in new product introduction, quality assurance, continuous improvement, and direct employee development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support manufacturing engineering and operational performance during the NPI and production process to establish world-class operational performance in Safety, Quality, Productivity, Delivery, People Development, and Continuous Improvement.
2. Support manufacturing engineering and operations to improve process and product quality assurance via A3 / 8D and PFMEA methodology.
3. Participate in team-based CI activities to support engineering and operational development of world-class working practices.
4. Mentor, train, and support the continual development of direct employee skill set.
5. Ensure that safe and efficient working practices are maintained on a daily basis within the manufacturing process.
6. Generating, auditing, and maintenance of supporting engineering process documentation such as PQA's, SOP's, and PVP's.
Job Requirements
1. Engineering NVQ level 2 or relevant manufacturing experience OR Holds or working towards mechanical / electrical engineering ONC / HNC.
2. Previous manufacturing experience in NPI, quality assurance, and CI environment OR will have relevant engineering or manufacturing experience from a similar industry.
3. Problem solving / quality assurance techniques such as 8D or PFMEA methodologies.
4. Computer literate OR computer literate with Microsoft packages, ERP systems and CAD based packages.
