We are hiring a Data Platform Lead who will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the cloud-based data platform. This role involves ensuring the platform's scalability, reliability, and security to meet the data needs of the organisation.
The Data Platform Lead will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive data strategy, enabling advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making.
Skills we are looking for:
* Platform Development & Management: Ensure the platform supports data ingestion, storage, processing, and retrieval needs. Oversee the maintenance and optimization of data pipelines and ETL processes.
* Data Strategy & Governance: Support the development and implementation of a robust data strategy aligned with business goals. Ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards, including GDPR and FCA requirements.
* Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers, architects, and DevOps professionals.
* Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and other relevant teams to integrate data solutions within the broader IT ecosystem. Act as the primary point of contact for data platform-related queries and issues.
* Technology & Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in data management and cloud services. Drive the adoption of best practices in data architecture, data engineering, and cloud technologies.
Technical Skills:
* Engineering: Proficient in SQL, Python, or other data-related programming languages.
* Cloud platform: Strong understanding of data governance, data security, and compliance requirements.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.
* Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the regulatory environment within the UK financial services sector.
* Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
* Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a high-performing team.
