Gordon MurrayTechnologies combines the expertise of visionary designers andengineers to bring disruptive technologies and low environmentalimpact innovations to the mobility sector. Critical to theimplementation of iStream Superlight are integral modules and systemsengineered to deliver a range of electrical functionalities – thesetechnologies also being scaleable to serve the delivery demands of anyspecific platform configuration.
With multiple sites inShalford and Warwick, Gordon Murray Technologies continues to growwith multiple vehicle programmes currently in development. As aresult, we currently have exciting opportunities for Senior ProjectEngineer – Electrical Modules to join our Electronics Team in aMidlands-based location.
Responsibilities:
* Engineering, development, integration and validation ofvarious electrical modules (ECUs, Sensors and Actuators etc.) into theoverall vehicle electrical architecture in collaboration withFunctional Departments, technical partners and Tier 1 suppliers.
* The Senior role will require to be working in some of the keyareas as owners for electrical modules
* Central Compute Unitand Zonal Controllers within top of the range zonal architecture
* Body Security Componentse.g. Body / Zonal Controller, Keys, Alcolock etc.
* Developmentand maintenance of requirements specifications, timing plans, systemscalibration and validation requirements throughout the projectlifecycle.
* Guidance to EDS and Packaging teams to ensurethat control units, modules and peripherals are correctly located andpackaged in accordance with installation and wiring requirements.
* Manage compliance with any necessary functional safety,legislative, electrical, environmental and EMC requirements.
* Lead system review, verification & validation activitiesincluding FMEAs, test planning and functionality tests throughout thedevelopment lifecycle.
* Represent the Electrical Department instatus meetings and engineering reviews. Also represent GMT inexternal working groups relating to the responsible components / ECUs.
* Fault identification and resolution including management ofissues to closure following a robust 8D process. Acting as anauthority for concessions or escalate as required.
* Suppliermanagement and co-ordination including support for Procurement,Logistics and Quality throughout the project lifecycle.
* Provision of support and training to Manufacturing andService departments.
* Responsible for Commodity attributessuch as Quality, Costs, Timing, Weight
* Responsible to delivercommodities within budget through regular supplier liaison andtracking DVP status, meeting all legislative requirements.
* Manage third party supplier across various prototype /development builds
* Leadership/participation in system review,verification & validation activities.
* Responsible for DFMEA,DVP&R (Electrical & Mechanical), PV sign-off, Engineering Sign-off
* Support Sub-system Design Reviews, DFMEA and Supplier FMEAs
* Tier 1 supplier management and co-ordination includingsupport for Procurement, Logistics and Quality throughout the projectlifecycle.
* Support various prototype and development buildsincluding labcar / test rig build where required
* Work closelywith other departments such as Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing,Programs, Logistics, Service and workshops
Experience and Qualifications:
* Minimum 7years of experience within the respective area applying for
* Understanding Automotive New Product Development Process,Milestones and deliverables for each phases
* Demonstrableexperience of automotive electrical components’ design, developmentand manufacture
* Good experience and knowledge of vehicleelectrical systems, ECUs and other electrically wired components
* Working knowledge of CAN, FlexRay, automotive ethernet, LINnetworks and vehicle diagnostics.
* Working knowledge ofrelevant homologation standards, ISO26262 and EuroNCAP
* Understanding of Functional Safety and Cyber Securityrequirements for a global market vehicle
* Experience in designfor good electrical and EMC performance.
* Established contactswithin the automotive eco-system including Tier 1 and componentsuppliers.
* Knowledge of hybrid and full-electric electricalvehicle architectures and wiring systems would be advantageous.
* Experience of visualisation using CATIA V5 or V6 orlightweight file viewers would be useful.
* Excellentunderstanding of 2D drawings, electrical circuits
* Experiencein creating Engineering Change Requests and managing theimplementation of the changes through design release internally andexternally.
* Experience of system/component delivery within anAPQP, six sigma or similar framework (FMEA, quality planning, PPAPetc).
* Experience in leading DFMEA and System (ElectricalInterface) Reviews
* Working knowledge of relevant regulationsand standards
* Experience is harness testing & validationprocess and engineering sign-off
* Ability to use variousengineering development tools such JIRA, Polarion etc. andcollaborative platforms such as Microsoft Office 365.

* Honor’s Degree inElectrical
* Honor’s degree in similar areas such asElectronics, Control Systems, Automotive acceptable with relevantexperience in the field
* Other recognised engineeringqualifications combined with relevant significant experience will beconsidered.
