They are seeking an individual who will take responsibility for implementing the plans for the packing lines in two warehouses situated in Dartford Kent.

What would be your role as Production Supervisor?
1. Supervising Packing Line Operations
* Oversee the entire packing line to ensure operations are running smoothly.
* Ensure that all workers are properly assigned tasks and are operating efficiently.
* Monitor production targets and ensure they are met on time.
* Identify and resolve bottlenecks or any issues that may arise during the packing process.
2. Ensuring Quality Control
* Monitor the quality of packed products to ensure they meet required standards.
* Conduct regular inspections.
* Once trained be able to train employees on proper packing techniques
* Report any quality issues to the Operations Manager and ensure corrective actions are taken.
3. Managing Staffing and Work Allocation
* Assign packing tasks based on skill levels and availability of team and or contract team members.
* Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to warehouse workers.
* Address performance issues
* Maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during shifts.
4. Maintaining Safety and Compliance (ideally have some experience with these tasks)
* Enforce safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
* Conduct regular safety meetings
* Ensure compliance with all workplace regulations, including health and safety laws.
* Investigate and report accidents or near misses and implement corrective actions.
5. Monitoring and Reporting Performance Metrics
* Track production output, quality rates, and downtime.
* Prepare daily or weekly performance reports for upper management.
6. Ensuring Proper Equipment Maintenance
* Be able after in depth training to set up machines. Ideally, have some experience with simple machine set up
* Ensure packing equipment is properly maintained and operational.
* Report any equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs or maintenance.
* Monitor equipment performance and implement preventive maintenance practices.
7. Inventory Management and Supply Coordination
* Ensure that sufficient packaging materials and supplies are available for production.
* Monitor inventory levels and communicate with colleagues and the Operations Managers to prevent shortages.
* Organise and manage the proper storage of packing materials.
8. Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement
* Resolve any problems or issues that arise during the packing process, including production delays, machine breakdowns, or quality concerns.
* Ideally be capable of leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
9. Communication and Coordination
* Communicate effectively with other departments (e.g., office, transport) to ensure smooth coordination of operations.
* Keep upper management (Operations Manager, General Manager) informed about any significant issues or deviations from production goals.
