Beccles Medical Centre is looking to recruit a Pharmacy Technician to join our growing team of Pharmacy Technicians and Clinical Pharmacists. The post is being offered at NHS Band 4 / NHS Band 5, subject to experience.
Clinical Pharmacy in General Practice is part of an exciting programme of transformation to develop a new model of care which addresses our ambition to deliver person-centred, coordinated care. There is a need to better utilise the role of pharmacy within primary care to pro-actively help patients stay safe and well and out of hospital as well as helping to reduce the demands on general practice.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to improve the quality and safety of care. You will have regular contact with patients helping to reduce the workload of GPs. The role includes development of practice teams to increase effective pharmacy administration within general practice, especially in relation to repeat prescribing processes including promotion of repeat dispensing and online ordering, minimising clinical risk and aiming to reduce wasted medicines.
The post holder will help patients to get the best from their medicines in a variety of ways, including face to face patient consultations. In addition, the post-holder will be responsible for developing better understanding of the principles of medicines optimisation and promoting good practice in line with therapeutic developments. This will involve assisting the practice in achieving national requirements, NICE implementation and utilisation of medicines optimisation initiatives.
The role will be based entirely at Beccles Medical Centre.
