This is a hybrid role located within commuting distance to a GE Aerospace Office. GE Aerospace is building a team focused on performance and availability of our Enterprise Teamcenter PLM system that is utilized across Engineering, Supply Chain, and Services processes & business segments. The Sr Teamcenter PLM Platform Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and high availability of the Teamcenter PLM system across Cloud & on-prem solutions, centrally managed servers & globally federated infrastructures, and a deep tech stack of enterprise capabilities & integrations. Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Work in a DevSecOps team & culture, focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence across Teamcenter Application & Infrastructure enterprise components.
2. Continuously monitor the performance of the Teamcenter environment using appropriate tools and techniques.
3. Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in the application, database, storage, and network layers.
4. Implement performance tuning measures, including database indexing, query optimization, and application server configuration.
5. Ensure high availability of the Teamcenter system through redundancy, failover mechanisms, and clustering.
6. Develop and implement disaster recovery plans and conduct regular testing to ensure data integrity and system availability.
7. Manage backup and recovery processes to protect against data loss and ensure quick restoration in case of failures.
8. Optimize server hardware and network infrastructure to support the Teamcenter environment.
9. Implement load balancing solutions to distribute workloads evenly across servers.
10. Use content delivery networks (CDNs) and local caching to improve access times for globally distributed users.
11. Design and manage a globally federated Teamcenter infrastructure to ensure data consistency and availability across different regions.
12. Implement replication and synchronization mechanisms to keep data up to date across multiple locations.
13. Optimize network routes and use WAN optimization technologies to reduce latency for remote users.
14. Plan and implement scalable solutions to accommodate growing user bases and data volumes.
15. Conduct capacity planning to ensure the infrastructure can handle future demands.
16. Provide support to users experiencing performance issues or system outages.
17. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address user needs and improve system performance.
18. Maintain comprehensive documentation of the Teamcenter infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
19. Generate regular reports on system performance, availability, capacity, and improvement plans.
Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 8 years of Product Lifecycle Management experience OR an Associate's degree with a minimum of 11 years Product Lifecycle Management experience OR High School Diploma with a minimum of 13 years Product Lifecycle Management experience.

1. Enterprise Teamcenter systems utilized across Engineering, Supply Chain, and Services processes & business segments.
2. Analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and improve system performance.
3. Teamcenter Administration and Teamcenter Deployment, including Deployment Center.
4. AWS Cloud architecture and automation using Cloud Formation Templates.
5. Experience scripting or developing software and services for the cloud C/C++, Python, Java, Groovy, Ant, PowerShell, Bash Shell, etc.
6. Obsessive about uptime, availability and reliability while being proactive about everything.
7. Strong understanding of cloud computing, including security, usage scenarios, and infrastructure basics.
8. Knowledge of common operating systems (Unix/Linux, Windows).
9. Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP, FTP, syslog, TFTP, etc.).
10. Experience managing version control systems such as Git.
11. Experience deploying and managing infrastructure on public clouds such as AWS or Azure.
12. Experience using an automated configuration management system (Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt, etc.).
13. Knowledge of Network Management (SNMP, MIB).
14. Experience with configuring, customizing, and extending monitoring tools (Datadog, Sensu, Grafana, Splunk).
15. Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP networking, and inter-networking technologies (routing/switching, proxy, firewall, load balancing etc.).
