We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our TA and Wellbeing Teams.
The role is to work as a Teaching Assistant during the mornings and as an ELSA in the afternoons.
Successful applicants will have experience in the role of Teaching Assistant and ideally in the role of an ELSA or similar. If you are not a qualified ELSA you will be required to undertake ELSA training and supervision.
The ELSA role will include working with parents and carers to improve outcomes for pupils and families. Work will involve supporting children with issues such as anxiety, self-confidence, trauma, bereavement and social skills. It will also involve supporting our vulnerable families with preventative work to provide early intervention, signposting and guidance. Communication with pupils, staff and parents will be key to the role.
We are looking for people who:
• Are able to work with children with a range of needs
• Are able to build positive and trusting relationships with children
• Have an interest in Social, Emotional and Mental Health
• Have excellent communication skills
• Have the ability to use intuition and work independently where necessary
• Are enthused and able to work with parents/carers to support children
• Have the ability to develop and use a range of resources to support pupils
• Can work as part of a team
• Can demonstrate a good level of computing skill
• Have a driving licence and access to their own transport
We would be particularly interested in applicants who have experience or training in emotional wellbeing. However, this is not essential as long as applicants have enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. We offer a supportive working environment where every member of staff is committed to ensuring the best learning opportunities for all children within a caring community.
• The successful candidates must meet the requirements of the person specifications in order to be offered the post and will be subject to enhanced DBS checks.
• We welcome applications regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or religion.
• Only applications submitted on the school’s application form will be considered.
• Enquiries to the school office by telephone / bursar @stmarysprimary.org Further details and an application form can be found on the “Staff Vacancies” page on our school website.
