Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Data Analyst to join our Performance team.
In this pivotal role, you will support the Adult Social Care directorate by providing high-quality data analysis and insights to inform decision-making and improve service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the analysis and interpretation of complex datasets to support the Adult Social Care directorate.
2. Ensure the council fulfils its obligations in respect of compliance reporting and statutory returns, including the new Client Level Data (CLD) return.
3. Produce and present performance reports to a range of audiences.
4. Provide analytical support to improvement projects.
5. Triage and respond to a range of data requests.
6. Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports to provide actionable insights.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver tailored solutions.
8. Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across all reporting.
9. Support the implementation of a self-service data culture within the directorate.
10. Manage, mentor, and guide analysts within the team.
About You:
1. Proven experience in data analysis, preferably within a local authority or public sector setting.
2. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present findings clearly.
3. Proficiency in data analysis and use of reporting tools and software, such as SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
5. A proactive and innovative approach to problem-solving.
6. A commitment to improving services and outcomes for adults in our community.
