Job Title: Maintenance Engineer (Nights)

Pay Range/details: £45,500 (Including shift allowance)

Hours of work: Monday Thursday 8pm 6am
My client, a dynamic organization, is looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join its team in Gloucester. The successful candidate will be responsible for moving material around the factory as well as general housekeeping, contributing to smooth operations within the factory. As a Site Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repairs of a range of industrial factory equipment running a 24/5 operation. You will work as part of a multi-functional team covering all aspects of both mechanical and electrical breakdowns and installations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work with electrical systems, including single-phase and 3-phase motors, pumps, gearboxes, and PLCs.
* Perform mechanical engineering tasks, including pneumatics, bearings, pumps, valves, chains, boilers, CNC routers, and water jets.
* Collaborate effectively and work well in a team.
* Provide both reactive and proactive maintenance services.
* Offer a multi-skilled maintenance service covering electrical and mechanical disciplines.
* Ensure all mechanical and electrical equipment is running at optimum performance.
* Ensure that all key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
* Carry out modifications and installations when required.
* Liaise with subcontractors and external suppliers.
* Take ownership of tools and equipment, ensuring they are maintained to the required standards.
* Adhere to waste management procedures when removing waste from any activities carried out.
* Ensure the department sets examples for best practice for 5S.
* Perform dynamic risk assessments before undertaking any work.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* Time-served maintenance engineer with City and Guilds or NVQ qualification.
* Experience with steam and thermal boilers.
* At least 4 years of hands-on maintenance experience with mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, gearboxes, cranes, etc.
* PLC experience.
* Practical knowledge of process plant and equipment gained in a heavy engineering environment.
* 18th Edition electrical qualification.
* BOAS (Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme).
* IPAF Licence (for powered access).
