Catering Manager
40 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (Term Time Only)
Actual Salary per annum: £ 21,686.83 – £25,197.44
FTE Salary per annum: FTE £24,717.30 – £28,718.48
We are seeking to appoint a Catering Manager to join us in our school. The catering manager will be responsible for the effective management and development of both staff and work practices within the Catering Department across the school kitchens at our 2 sites in Bristol. Ideally, you will have experience of working in a lead role in a catering environment and will be able to manage and prioritise a varied workload and the ability to design menus. A Food Hygiene certificate is essential. Experience of working with vulnerable young people with learning disabilities would be an advantage.
In this role you will:
1. Oversee food supplies, cost efficient ordering, invoicing and monitor kitchen equipment repairs and servicing contracts
2. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Food Hygiene standards
3. Lead, motivate and line manage catering staff
4. Cook school lunch when required
5. Oversee the running of our Catering department
6. Willingness to undergo training in our food and nutrition policy
7. Ensure the meals and catering procedures follow and promote the Ruskin Mill Trust Food and Nutrition policy, using biodynamic and organic seasonal produce, ideally sourced directly from the School’s own biodynamic farm wherever possible or grown at the Trust’s other sites and embed the Trust’s Seed-to-Table curriculum.
