Job Requirements
We are currently seeking an experienced Marine Engineering Lead to join our team at Quest Global. We have an exciting opportunity to help build and manage a world-class Marine Engineering team, working on key UK Defence programmes. We have secured a new exciting opportunity with a tier 1 client and are looking for the right Engineering Lead to help us grow, mature and deliver our Marine activities. As a Structural Stress Engineer, you will have technical responsibility for the team's Marine Engineering work including Marine Seating, Stress / Fluid Analysis, Ship Design and Design Cost Optimisation.
Responsibilities:
1. Technical Management of the team's tasks.
2. Signing off deliverables prior to customer delivery (drawing, technical reports, etc.).
3. Acting as the technical Point of Contact with customers.
4. Collaborate and lead cross-functional teams to develop innovative design solutions that meet customer requirements and project objectives.
5. Define and derive Marine Engineering solutions.
6. Lead customer solution workshops.
7. Support recruitment of the Marine Engineering Team.
8. Generate detailed technical reports and documentation to communicate analysis results and recommendations.
9. Participate or lead design reviews and provide technical expertise to support the development and improvement of marine seating systems.
10. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to structural stress analysis and marine seating.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
2. Broad Marine engineering experience.
3. Experience of Defence product development lifecycles, for example design reviews.
4. Good knowledge of Defence Marine Engineering standards.
5. Experience of technical and line management.
6. Experience of managing engineering Work Packages to deliver to time, cost and quality requirements.
7. Good knowledge of Structural Stress Engineering, preferably in the aerospace and defence industry.
8. Strong knowledge of marine seating systems and their structural requirements.
9. Proficiency in using industry-standard software tools for structural analysis, such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or ABAQUS.
10. Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards, such as MIL-STD, ASME, or ISO.
11. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex engineering data and make sound recommendations.
12. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information clearly.
