Teaching Assistant
Location: Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2024
Salary: £84 – £105 per month

GSL Education Hull are seeking special needs teaching assistants to support young people within KS3, KS4 and KS5 with a diverse range of additional needs. This will be a long-term basis, full time, Monday to Friday. To be considered for this position, experience and knowledge of special educational needs is essential.
The role of a Special Needs Teaching Assistant will include, but not be limited to:
* Preparing earning materials and adapt lesson plans from the class teacher, to effectively support individual student's needs.
* Looking after children and young people’s physical, social and emotional welfare and wellbeing.
* Coming up with engaging and creative ways to interact with the young people you are supporting.
* Working alongside other professionals such as speech and language therapists and physiotherapists.
* At times, delivering personal care to young people you are supporting.
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant in Hull, with GSL Education, you should have:
* At least 6 months experience in an educational or health care setting.
* Experience supporting children, young people, or adults with autism, ADHD, learning difficulties or physical disabilities.
* The willingness to provide personal care when needed.
* A passion and dedication to supporting people with additional needs, to be able to live as independently as possible.
* A relevant qualification at Level 2 or higher, such as a Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
