This role will include:
• Responsibility of delivery of transport planning projects, including day to day management of projects and clients, fee proposals, change control and invoicing
• Providing transport planning advice to colleagues and clients
• Responsible for developing excellent client relationships and securing repeat work
• Preparation of technical reports and presentations as required in line with company and client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice
• Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design and the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects
• Liaising with the Project Partner and client to keep informed of all developments associated with the project
• Supporting the Discipline Partner to develop and grow the team
• Overseeing analyses relating to transport planning and design projects including CAD, GIS, transport modelling, spread sheet and proprietary modelling coding and interrogation
• Assisting in the resolution of complex technical issues
• Document management, including drawing registers
• Monitoring and managing project budgets and programmes
To be considered for this role, you should possess / evidence:
• Degree or relevant experience in transport related/numeric subject (e.g., Transport Planning, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering), or equivalent
• An excellent knowledge of the principles of transport planning including a detailed understanding of policy, relevant design standards, and the requirements of Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
• Team player and leader, self-starter and problem solver with 'Can-do' attitude
• Confident and outgoing individual
• Client focused with good interpersonal skills and collaborative working approach with a high level of commitment to quality
• Relevant experience, including a range of projects across the sectors, preferably within the private sector
• Commercial awareness and the confidence, ability and experience to provide clear, authoritative advice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Project
• A detailed understanding of TRICS for trip generation, the fundamentals of trip distribution, and assessment skills using Junctions 10 and LinSig, CAD, road safety engineering, junction design and assessment.
• Member of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation or Transport Planning Society or an equivalent professional organisation
• Full current driving licence
