SWe are currently seeking Psychology and Sports Graduates to support the education of young people in alternative education settings, such as Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) schools. This role offers an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain valuable experience in the education sector, particularly for individuals considering a career in teaching, youth work, or psychology.
The positions available are for both long-term and short-term roles across West and North Yorkshire, with many leading to permanent employment. These roles provide a fantastic foundation for graduates seeking relevant experience to progress towards their career goals in education or related fields.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about working with young people and have a genuine desire to improve their outcomes. Previous experience in youth community work, SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), or a background in Psychology, Sports Coaching, Drama, or mentoring is desirable, but not essential. We are especially interested in applicants who are outgoing, confident, and able to work independently, with a willingness to complete training such as Team Teach or physical intervention.
Roles are available for Teaching Assistants, Tutors, and Support Workers in a range of educational settings. You will be supporting young people with various learning needs, including SEMH, Autism, PMLD, and other additional learning needs, in a nurturing and supportive environment.
To be eligible for these roles, applicants must:
- Hold or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS certificate with live subscription to the update service
- Provide two professional references from the past five years
- Have a commitment to safeguarding young people
- Have a CV covering the last 10 years
These roles offer competitive pay rates, which are inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. The position is temporary, with the potential for permanent employment depending on performance and the needs of the school.
