Turbine Operations Engineering is part of the Operations Engineering department within Global Service. We are responsible for supporting the regional Operations and Engineering teams within the services, ensuring that they have the right solutions available to optimize the performance of the turbines. Our team members are respected as experts within our fields, bridging the gap between technical and operational aspects of the service business. We prioritize stakeholder management and satisfaction, engaging with colleagues worldwide along the entire Vestas value chain. We are now seeking our new Blade specialist to contribute to our team.
Responsibilities
The main scope of responsibility for the role can be described as:
1. Act as the main Global Operations Engineering point of contact for blade-related service issues
2. Be part of the blades service functional community, connecting the different regional operations and engineering teams with global functions, ensuring knowledge sharing in virtual and physical forums
3. Identify key performance drivers within relevant functional areas and ensure there is an agreed action plan to deal with the issue
4. Act as technical and operational reviewer of solutions and deliverables during RCA, development and implementation when addressing quality issues with service impact
5. Ensure service requirements are captured during new product development and key deliverables are ready for introduction to service operations
6. Identify areas for operational improvement of WTG servicing and work with relevant stakeholders to develop into executable tasks
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we believe that you bring the following experience:
1. Master's or bachelor's degree in an Engineering function such as aeronautical, mechanical, materials science or related field
2. Substantial experience in an engineering-related wind turbine blades service role
3. A deep understanding of the entire lifecycle of wind turbine blades - design, testing, certification, manufacturing, service, and decommissioning
4. Training or experience in project or program management
5. Excellent proficiency in English
6. Advanced knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. In addition, data analytics skills (preferably PowerBI, SQL) is a merit
7. Six Sigma or similar training is a merit

Additional information
The primary work location is Aarhus, Denmark but could also be in Denmark, Lem/ The UK, Isle of Wight/ Portugal, Porto/ Germany, Hamburg/ Spain, Madrid/ India, Chennai. The role requires approximately 40 days of travel per year.
