Our client, a fast-growing fire suppression business, is currently recruiting for a switched-on and reliable team player with a strong work ethic and bags of initiative. If you’re looking for a trainee role where you can get up to speed quickly and follow a structured career path with great job prospects, we’d love to hear from you!
This role will primarily be office based and focus on learning how to schedule and run their fire suppression installation projects. Obviously, full training will be provided!
Initially there will be a lot to learn about how to run a project, how to deal with internal staff and the clients to keep projects on track, how to forecast and manage the budgets for a project and how to deal with the inevitable situations where the project plan needs to be tweaked due to on-site considerations. Once you are bedded into the role, duties will include:
* Planning and costing installation projects including equipment costs, staff time requirements and other considerations
* Coordinating engineers and installation staff to ensure projects are on track
* Dealing with clients, ensuring they are happy with the service provided, responding to any comments, etc.
* Lots of relevant administration to make sure all project documentation is up to date
All the skills required for this role can be taught. What they are looking for in the successful applicant is:
* Enthusiasm and a desire to learn
* The ability and confidence to speak to colleagues and clients alike
* Strong planning and organisational skills
* Great administration skills including a solid grounding in MS Office
* Flexibility to respond to changes in project circumstances and to deal with “curve balls” caused by the client or necessary changes in the installation process
* Ability to think on your feet
* Minimum GCSE at grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
This would really suit someone who has great communication and organisational skills who is looking for a long-term career. The career path here is obvious – you will be shadowing a senior member of their team to learn all aspects of project management; they will give you support but also the opportunity to run small projects as soon as you are ready to do so. Their attitude is that personality, ability to communicate and organisational skills can’t be taught – if you have this, they can offer a great career path.
