Logistics Coordinator
Permanent – Full Time (hybrid) – 40hrs/week
Monday – Friday 08:00am – 16:30pm
Salary – £35,000-£40,000 per annum DOE
Summary
The logistics team at A2R Tooling is expanding, and we are seeking a proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic team in Portsmouth. In this role, you will play a crucial part in facilitating daily communications with internal colleagues and external shareholders; planning with customers, suppliers, transport providers and agents and arranging shipments with freight forwarders to action the plans you put in place. Your responsibilities will include intelligent planning to determine when to create purchase orders for stock from our suppliers, assisting the Logistics Administrator in placing purchase orders and processing customer sales orders; reconciling freight and material costs with the correct job references for invoicing purposes and creating work orders and production plans to meet our customer requirements. Additionally you will provide vital support to the Head of Logistics, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our logistics operations.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in similar roles within logistics or supply chain (2 years minimum).
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and similar office software.
- Familiarity with a ERP systems is desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when conducting tasks.
- Previous experience working within automotive supply chain is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret and manipulate complex data sets.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Obtaining shipping quotes from freight forwarders by finding the most cost efficient solutions for time critical shipping requirements.
- Arranging, booking and recording shipments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Coordinating and monitoring all supply chain operations and overseeing shipping and receiving processes.
- Helping to continually optimise logistics procedures by analysing logistics data to extract and record key information. Using this information and your own observations to identify sub-optimal procedures.
- Suggest and implement process improvements in accordance with business needs.
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, ensuring documentation is correct.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal teams. Liaising with suppliers, customers and freight forwarders to resolve any issues promptly.
- Building new and existing relationships within the shipping and logistics industry to gain ideas and insight to improve ways of working.
- Recording key supply chain information, maintaining and updating relevant files and inputting accurate data onto the businesses operating systems.
- Creating purchase orders as required and communicating these to our suppliers.
- Forward planning and forecasting. Looking for new, innovative and flexible solutions for our shipping requirements to increase efficiency and save cost.
- Any other tasks reasonably requested by the Head of Logistics or Company Directors.
