This is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible, running until the end of the academic year, with the opportunity for the role to become permanent based on performance. Role Responsibilities As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the school’s Mathematics department and raising the attainment levels of students across Key Stages 3 and 4. Your day-to-day duties will include: Supporting the classroom teacher with lesson delivery, particularly in Maths. Providing targeted intervention sessions for students who need additional support with numeracy skills. Working one-to-one and in small groups to boost student confidence and understanding in Maths topics. Assisting with the preparation of resources, classroom materials, and lesson planning. Monitoring pupil progress and feeding back to teachers on student performance and engagement. Supporting students with exam preparation, including revision and study strategies. Encouraging a positive learning environment, promoting engagement, participation, and high expectations. Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and adapting tasks to suit individual learning styles. Ideal Candidate Profile A Maths or related degree (e.g., Engineering, Economics, Physics). A strong academic background and confidence with the KS3/KS4 Maths curriculum. A genuine interest in pursuing a career in education or teaching. Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and engage students. Patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to learning support. Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, volunteering).
