We are looking for a dedicated and inspiring Nursery Manager to grow our new all-year round provision for 2-4 year olds, and provide a high-quality and stimulating learning environment with outstanding pastoral care that the school prides itself on.
You will be a strong leader, an excellent communicator and passionate about the development of young children and helping them start their exciting journey at the school. You will oversee the Nursery provision working alongside the Nursery Coordinator and closely with other nursery staff, supporting parents, knowing each and every child in your care and being part of the whole school leadership team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure Safeguarding is always treated with the utmost seriousness and as the top priority in your role as DSL for the Nursery.
* Manage the overall operations of Littlegarth Nursery, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards and ensuring appropriate staffing levels between 7.30am-6.30pm Monday to Friday, 50 weeks of the year.
* Lead and support a team of nursery staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, in collaboration with the Nursery Coordinator.
* Develop our dynamic curriculum that promotes the holistic development of children in collaboration with the Nursery Coordinator.
* Work collaboratively for the best outcomes for children with the EYFS SENCo, School Therapist and external professionals (e.g. Speech and Language).
* Communicate regularly and proactively with parents regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise. Find opportunities for parental engagement and developing parental confidence.
* Maintain accurate records of children's development, attendance, and incidents as required by regulatory bodies.
* Drive initiatives to enhance the nursery's reputation within the community through outreach and engagement activities.
* Ensure a safe, clean, and stimulating environment for children at all times.
* Demonstrate a hands-on and child-centered approach, along with a love of learning and the natural world, including Forest School.
* Keep abreast of the Government Early Years Funding scheme so as to keep exemplary records for the school, advise the school and to advise and help parents with the process.
* Assist in developing the marketing strategy for Nursery as part of SLT including overseeing and contributing to Nursery blogs, social media and website information.
* Have a key role in recruitment and retention of staff to ensure a high-quality environment.
* Oversee and develop CPD for Nursery staff and advise as to relevant CPD for wider staff body.
* Keep up to date with EYFS information, regulations and innovations.
* Liaise with catering staff to ensure suitable provision and all dietary needs are catered for.
* Engage with Heads of Department and senior leaders in the School to understand the learning journey of children at Littlegarth so as to talk knowledgeably to prospective parents.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Proven experience in a leadership role within a Nursery.
* Minimum of level 3 in a relevant Early Years qualification.
* Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices.
EXPERIENCE
* Experience with children in a Nursery setting: 3+ years.
* Leadership: 1+ year.
* Experience working with children across 2-4 year olds.

SCOPE
* Full time, permanent.
* Pay: Competitive and commensurate with experience.
* Working pattern: Monday to Friday.
* 40 hours per week.
* 28 days holiday a year.
* Attendance at weekly staff meeting (term times).
