Become a Support Worker with Active Prospects!
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Salary: £12.50 per hour
Service Type: Adult Complex Care Service
Speciality: Mental Health, Autism, Learning Disability
Are you kind, compassionate, and have a passion for empowering people to lead an aspiring life? Are you patient, resilient, and able to bring calm and consistency to people who may be living independently for the first time? Our new service is for 4 people requiring a wide range of support from emotional support, learning new coping mechanisms, and being able to express their true selves.
The role is about supporting people to lead a Gloriously ordinary life full of opportunity, fun, and helping people to reach their goals and aspirations. The role can be tough, but the rewards outweigh the challenges.
You will need to be adaptable, flexible, and mature, supporting our people to regain their independence through empowerment, active support, positive risk-taking, and out-of-the-box thinking. It's important to note that some people being supported may self-harm, have anxiety, or occasionally show behaviours of concern.
At present, all the people we support have several hours of 1:1 support during the day as well as some shared support day and night. The ideal candidates will have a passion for working with people with enduring mental health, a keen interest in the psychology behind complex behaviours that challenge, and the willingness to learn and practice Positive Behaviour Support.
Active Prospects is recruiting for Day OR Night Support Worker(s) to join our complex care service in Horsham, West Sussex. Our new Horsham service is close to public transport, with a short walk from the bus stop/train station to the service. Drivers are always welcome.
