We are looking for an experienced scientist to support education and training for our healthcare science workforce. The successful candidate will have prior experience of training and mentoring and have a keen interest in clinical practice education and development. You will need to demonstrate that you are pro-active, highly motivated, well organised, have excellent inter-personal skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a senior team.
The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to support trainers and trainees within the life sciences, principally clinical biochemistry STP. The post will be diverse and challenging, requiring a high level of enthusiasm and excellent communication skills. The leadership and management skills to ensure guidelines and policies are implemented will be critical to the role.
Main duties of the job
1. Work in collaboration with senior management to develop and manage strategies for healthcare science education across the organisation that meets service needs including the registered and unregistered workforce.
2. Lead the development of programmes of education and training, demonstrating awareness of cultural diversity in the workplace and the need to adapt training accordingly.
3. Promote lifelong learning that is underpinned by research and development and links to the aims of the Imperial College AHSC.
4. Implement changes and support the Trust wide change process.
5. Implement an education service that meets the requirements of Investors in People.
6. Contribute to strategy development and be responsible for the achievement of education targets across the organisation and work collaboratively with educators across the organisation.
7. Be a role model for leadership, training, coaching and assessing staff development at all levels.
