Job Description
We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced and exceptional Plant PLC Engineer based in Peterborough.
You will be reporting to the Production Supervisor of this global Company and working with the Plant Operations team.
The position is responsible for taking the lead in ensuring the smooth running of the control systems within the clients' water-based units and the plant-based equipment.
As a secondary responsibility, you will also lead on the commissioning or final testing of newly built mobile water assets.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
* Being a role model in the driving and following of EHS standards and culture within the Peterborough facility.
* Ensuring adherence to Quality standards at all times.
* PLC modifications and fault finding in the regeneration plant, for sites, and on our control systems for mobile water treatment equipment.
* Fault finding in control systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS, etc.) through preventative and reactive maintenance.
* Commissioning new and refurbished equipment.
* Liaison with Assembly, Engineering, and Plant Manager in discovery and elimination of unknown issues caused by design.
* Strict follow up changes in MOC and documentation.
* Improvement of electrical consumption and efficiency of the plant to achieve the maximum cost savings.
* Electrical and PLC support to the Plant and Assembly Team.
* Maintain electrical control systems in containers, trailers, and skids, including lighting, direct on-line, instrumentation, pumps/motors, etc.
* To perform CE upgrades to existing equipment as per the requirement of the business.
* Assist in the development of plant modification and improvement work.
* Maintaining accurate maintenance records.
* Maintain the integrity of work rules and processes.
* Participate in training and team meetings and suggest possible improvements.
* Supervising and directing on-site contractors when required.
* Occasionally travel to customer sites.
To carry out this role you will need the following:
* Experience in industrial electrical works.
* Previously worked in an industrial area, assembly, or other operational role.
* Proven record of EHS and Quality awareness.
* Experience working with Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC software.
* 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* NVQ3 in electrical-based units.
* City and Guilds Level 3 in electrical installations or equivalent.
* Drawing software training or experience.
* Experience of project management.
* Passport to safety or equivalent.
* Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages.
* Experience in the water treatment industry is an advantage.
The role offers a competitive salary between £38K and £45K dependent upon experience.
