We are looking to recruit an M&E Project Manager to undertake or oversee the design, pricing, tendering, project management, installation, and completion of projects across commercial and public sector estates in the North West.
The role is a contract position for circa 8-10 months, based off a salary range of 50-60k banding, paying £26.50/hr PAYE (or £30/hr CIS/UMB). Monday to Friday, circa 40 hours per week, and expenses paid. Largely covering the Greater Manchester and Lancashire regions, but other areas may be added.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead on multiple M&E Projects on large scale estates – Projects include new works, refurbishments, plant room upgrades, and energy/low carbon programs.
2. Plant includes: Electrical, lighting, mechanical plant room, HVAC, services and building utilities, solar PV, Air Source Heat Pumps, Low carbon plant room, boiler, and heating systems.
3. Develop and understand the full scope of works in line with the desired project business case and outcome.
4. Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s) “end to end.”
5. Activities to include but not be limited to estimating, quantity surveying, sub-contractor management, and site manager duties.
6. Identify and develop a short/medium and long term pipeline of Project opportunities from the portfolio of customers within the Sector.
7. Liaise with colleagues and managers to determine and identify project opportunities. Use case studies to promote business and host key decision makers on show site tours.
8. Full accountability on each project.
9. Value all sub-contractor accounts and make applications for payments.
10. Approximate total value circa 8 million.
11. Be involved in the mechanical & electrical design/planning and implementation.
12. Define and understand the scope of work to meet the customer’s specification.
13. Competitively price the works whilst returning expected profit margins.
14. Be in attendance on site for the works inclusive of any out of hours requirements.
M&E Project Manager Requirements:
1. Experienced Project Manager with a background in Electrical and/or Mechanical engineering.
2. Qualified with appropriate H&S and grading.
3. Experience of large scale plant room project works including new builds, refurbishments, and upgrades.
4. Grade to grave Project operations.
5. Client facing skills and project generation ability.
6. Ability to quote and work on project documentation.
7. Site Management experience.
8. Valid driving license.
9. Ideally SSSTS/ECS or suitable equivalent.
