We are now looking for a Manufacturing Engineer with a background in Photonics, Optics or Fibre Optics to join a leading developer of Optoelectronics products. Your primary responsibility will be to improve and define new processes for product release to manufacture. This will also include managing cost improvement objectives and technical support for the operational function. The key duties for this position are to provide technical support to manufacturing with respect to product/process design and functionality. You will provide production support with NPI projects and provide on hand shop floor support in each production area. As Manufacturing Engineer, you will support the training of new and existing processes, raising training and process corrective actions with manufacturing when required. With experience implementing LEAN and CI practices, you will drive the implementation and maintenance of best practices. Qualifications: As the successful Manufacturing Engineer, you should hold a minimum of a Degree / HND in Engineering (Optics/Electronics/Mechanical/Software) Degree/HND or equivalent preferred. Experience: You should have around 5 years experience in a similar engineering or manufacturing role. Experience in manufacturing is essential. Experience in Photonics and it applications, specifically fibre optics and be familiar with Lean Six Sigma and Lean Principles in volume manufacturing is required.
