Main duties and purpose of the role: F&B Assistants need food service and waiting skills, alongside excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate well with guests. F&B Assistants also need excellent knowledge of food preparation and hygiene standards. A successful F&B Assistant candidate will have various prerequisite skills and qualifications that typically include: To ensure restaurant checks have been received in the kitchen Check restaurant tables are correctly laid up according to the standards before any dishes are served to guests To ensure tables are cleared in the appropriate manner & time To have knowledge of food service techniques in order to serve all food correctly and to required standard To carry out other reasonable duties as deemed appropriate by a Supervisor To deal with all customer / guest comments or complaints immediately and pass onto appropriate Supervisor/HOD. Excellent food service skills, including the ability to carry multiple plates and to deliver drinks on trays Ability to work well with other team members and to follow directions from supervisors To be responsible for cleaning of equipment in restaurant - polishing of crockery/glassware Replenishing hot/code buffet & condiments Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques and ability to follow basic recipes Ability to provide guests with up-to-date information and directions while attending the function To be polite and courteous to all guests and visitors to the hotel at all times Valid food hygiene certificate from the Food Standards Agency The above is a non-exhaustive list of duties and you are expected to undertake any other duties as requested by your Manager.
