An exciting opportunity exists in the Council’s Street Scene Services for a Team Leader LGV Driver working on the Container Team from our Depot at Carrwood Road, Castleford.
What will be expected from me?
The postholder will be required to demonstrate that they have the following skills, knowledge and experience:
* To be an ambassador for the Council when dealing with all stakeholders, customers and have excellent communication and inter-personnel skills.
* To deal with conflict situations.
* To be self-motivated and can motivate others.
* To have a good understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
* The ability to assess problems and provide practical solutions.
* To have the ability to prioritise conflicting demands.
* To display good numeracy and literacy skills.
* To have the ability to multi-task and display a flexible working approach.
What I might be doing?
The post holder as part of their roles and responsibilities will:
* Drive various LGV / Non LGV Vehicles.
* Lead a small operational team.
* Carry out daily vehicle checks, and FTA vehicle compliance.
* Collect waste and recyclable materials from across the district.
Essential requirements:
* Current clean LGV Driving Licence (category C) with no more than 6 penalty points as per current national driving penalties system.
* Driver Certificate of Professional Competence qualification (DCPC).
What can I expect?
* This is a full-time post of 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
* 2.25 hours contractual Overtime per week.
