They are looking to recruit a Purchasing Coordinator to join their team at an exciting time within development of the company. Purpose of the Purchasing Coordinator role: Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role is ideal for a motivated individual with experience in purchasing and forecasting within a manufacturing or distribution environment, looking to advance their career. You will work closely with the sales teams to forecast demand for products, then manage the supply chain to ensure stock levels are maintained to enable the client to provide their famously fast, efficient and comprehensive service to their customers around the world. Main duties and responsibilities of a Purchasing Coordinator: Manage the supply chain, maintaining a highly accurate MRP and stock management system. Manage bespoke and reactive parts supply. Keep up to date with relevant legislation, including global import and export changes which could impact the supply chain. Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and `onboard' new suppliers where necessary to satisfy new parts supply. Negotiate with suppliers to ensure all procurement is competitive. Support the engineering department with bills of materials. Support the accounts team with cost of sales, ensuring they are working with the most up-to-date information. Support with the implementation of a new warehouse barcoding stock control system. Administration and lead contact with HM Customs for bonded warehouse stock. Leading the internal auditing team for our ISO9000 quality standard. Experience / knowledge requirements for a Purchasing Coordinator: Working knowledge of forecasting and MRP processes and relevant software / applications. Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management. Demonstrable experience in an equivalent role. Full driving licence. Excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - ideally experience using SAGE High levels of written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of manufacturing, engineering and bonded warehouse operations. (Preferred) Understanding of the demands of a service-driven sales environment.
