Full time 37 hour posts & Part time 30 hours posts available
Our Livingston service is growing!
Ark is completing work on an exciting new housing development at Crusader Rise. Part of this development will provide housing to those with additional support needs who will require Care & Support packages.
We are now looking for Full time Support Workers to help us deliver these new Support Packages.
You will be joining our amazing team of Support Workers who already operate the small outreach service that is situated in Dedridge.
Our support workers support our people using a person centred approach to live in their own homes and to live their lives to their full potential and be included in the community.
Livingston Service already supports 3 people out in the community in their own homes. Some of these supported people need 24 hour support and others only need short periods of support.
There will be 3 new Supported People requiring 24 hour care with a variety of complex needs (including Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and Epilepsy) joining the service.
We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced, and motivated individuals; however, experience is preferred but not essential. We will consider individuals that can demonstrate the right values and willingness to engage with their learning and development.
We offer a personalised service to meet the individual's needs which includes support to maintain their tenancies, finances, personal care, medication, health & social support.
Shifts will be on a rota basis with a variety of day, evening, and sleepover shifts.
*A sleepover shift consists of working an afternoon/evening shift, a rest period sleeping over in the service and then working a short shift in the morning. The sleepover period is over and above your contracted hours and gets paid as an additional payment of £96.00 per sleepover.
If you are enthusiastic about supporting people to live their best lives then apply now to join our team!
Your main duties will include but not be limited to:
1. Working with colleagues as part of an effective and efficient team to support vulnerable people.
2. Communicate and work well with our supported people to provide individual care and maintain appropriate relationships.
3. Being responsible in supporting individuals throughout the activities, giving positive feedback and encouragement.
