INTERMEDIATE ELECTRICAL BUILDING SERVICES DESIGN ENGINEER:
The position is for a role within the electrical team at an award-winning practice in Hertfordshire; a multi-disciplined consultancy involved in all areas of the building services industry. We have a wide range of projects and clients from racecourses to high-end housing to restaurant roll-out programmes and are looking to expand our team with a creative and motivated individual.
Key elements of the role include:
1. Prepare designs/specifications/builders work in connection (BWIC) schedules
2. Assist with budget estimates
3. Attend meetings (internal and external as required) and site surveys
4. Supervise trainees, junior engineers and CAD operators, and assist in their technical and general development.
In addition:
1. Assist with obtaining external approvals
2. Co-ordinate design/specifications with all other disciplines
3. Provide technical information required by all other disciplines
4. Provide information to CAD operators for preparation of drawings
5. Use Company calculation software
6. Maintain comprehensive technical files for all projects worked on
7. Liaise with all other departments in the Company
8. Undertake general contract administration duties
9. Prepare CDM documentation
10. Maintain accurate records of time and expenses using Company sheets
11. Work within guidelines of Company Health and Safety Policy document at all times
12. Undertake further education as agreed with the Directors in connection with job requirements/CPD
Minimum requirements are as follows:
1. A degree relevant to electrical engineering or Building Services
2. A minimum of 1 year’s experience within the industry
3. Use of software packages including CAD/Amtech/Dialux/Relux/Microsoft Office.
