By joining the University of Central Lancashire, you’ll become part of a thriving community of talent that’s united by a shared vision – to transform the lives of our students and create prosperity and opportunity in the communities we serve. Every colleague has a vital role to play in helping us achieve this vision.
About the role:
The School is looking for a suitably qualified individual with a law or law-related background who can teach, assess/grade, and support students across a range of core and optional undergraduate LLB and postgraduate LLM modules, including legal and professional skills. We will consider all applications but are particularly interested in those applicants who could teach undergraduate private law subjects such as business/commercial, consumer, contract, tort, property (land and equity & trusts), medicine, and employment. Although not an essential requirement for this role, we would also welcome candidates who in addition to supporting teaching on our undergraduate LLB programmes could also support our solicitor apprenticeship and post-graduate professional masters programmes, which prepare graduates for the SQE examinations.
About you:
The successful applicant should hold an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in law, in a predominantly law based subject area, and either hold a postgraduate academic, or professional legal qualification (as either a solicitor or barrister with relevant work experience). They will also have a relevant postgraduate qualification, which includes either the Legal Practice Course or the Bar Vocational Course as recognised by the SRA and BSB respectively. Ideally applicants will hold a teaching qualification or demonstrate a willingness to undertake such a qualification. We are also looking for a willingness to support the broader business needs of the School through either academic research, knowledge exchange and public engagement activities, clinical legal education and related services, and professional CPD, executive education and training, or a combination of some/all of these.
Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be short-listed.

As well as realising your career ambitions, you’ll be making a positive difference to other people’s lives.
