Over view… Position Title: Maths Teacher Start Date: Easter 2025 Employment Type: Two Days, Monday and Friday Duration: Summer Term Special Educational Needs: Predominantly SEMH, Autism, ADHD Key Stage : 3 &4 LEA: Telford and Wrekin Job Description… We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Maths Teacher to join a supportive and caring team a partnering Telford School. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism, and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) within the secondary school setting. The classes are small, of about 6 to 8 pupils to support their learning with teaching assistants in each class. Responsibilities… Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality maths lessons tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN. Use a variety of teaching methods and strategies to engage learners and promote understanding and confidence in mathematics. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of all students. Monitor and assess student progress, keeping accurate records and reporting outcomes to stakeholders. Work closely with SENCOs, teaching assistants, therapists, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support. Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. Contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs), behaviour plans, and learning support strategies. Participate in school-wide SEN training and initiatives. Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and families to support student learning and development. Requirements… Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching maths, ideally to students with SEN. A strong understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and strategies to support students with a range of learning needs. Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. A compassionate and patient approach to teaching and learning.
