About the Role
If you are an experienced information governance specialist, we have a great opportunity to take your next step to lead a busy and hardworking Information Governance Team, in an organisation which values good information governance.
As Information Governance Manager you will manage and implement day to day information governance activities including (but not limited to) Complaints, Subject Access Requests (SARs), the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Environmental Information Regulations (EIR), dealing with Data Incidents, Data Protection Impact Assessments and information sharing agreements.
You will also act as the Council’s Deputy Data Protection Officer, providing expert advice to the Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO), the Information Governance Board and wider staff.
This is an exciting time to join us as we are currently participating in the trial and early implementation of the new Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman’s Complaint Handling Code, so this is a great opportunity to get direct experience of working under the new code and help shape its roll out.
This is a full-time position on a fixed term contract for 12 months.

About You:
You will be a qualified information governance specialist.
You will have experience of all aspects of information governance including Data Protection Freedom of Information and Complaints.
Additionally, you will have a proactive, energetic and integrated approach to information governance with excellent communication skills.
Selection Process:
