About the School
Liverpool College is a mixed ability 4-19 Academy of some 1660 pupils. The College is situated on a leafy 28-acre campus located in the Mossley Hill area of Liverpool adjacent to Sefton Park. The College was founded in 1840 and became an all-through academy for pupils aged 4 to 19 years old in September 2013. The College also offers state boarding provision and has become one of the most over-subscribed schools in the North of England. Liverpool College is a diverse, multi-faith inclusive school which draws pupils and staff from every community in the Merseyside region. The College was judged Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted at its last inspection in November 2019. Liverpool College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils. About the Role
* Successful experience working in a secondary environment teaching KS3 and KS4.
* Experience of providing teaching and learning for the individual needs of all children through adaptive teaching techniques and a variety of learning strategies.
* Excellent Practitioner.
* Understands health and safety procedures.
* Good knowledge and understanding of the changes in the curriculum.
* To evaluate the teaching and learning strategies and resources deployed.
* To be accountable for students’ attainment, achievement and progress in the classes taught.
* To ensure a duty of care at all times to safeguard and promote the welfare of all students.
* To contribute to the moral and spiritual development of students.
* To maintain high professional standards of attendance, punctuality, appearance, conduct and courteous, positive relations with students, parents, colleagues and visitors.
* To actively support and promote positive professional and curriculum links across all educational phases of the College.
* To actively engage with the performance management process and continue with personal and professional development.
* To adhere to school policies and procedures as set out in the staff handbook and other documentation available.
* To liaise with parents/carers and outside agencies when necessary.
Personal Qualities
* Good honours degree in Chemistry or relevant degree.
* A levels in related subjects.
* QTS (or pending).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Ability to break down information so it can be easily relayed.
* Be well organised, forward-thinking and able to problem solve.
