What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
1. The ability to work within a team and with other stakeholders to ensure service outcomes are achieved.
2. Evidence of successfully implementing improvement initiatives from a technical and process angle.
3. Previous experience providing the technical application support of services within an enterprise environment.
You and your role
As an Applications Operations Engineer you will maintain services and are responsible for conducting user and security administration. At this level you will monitor applications are accountable for batch processes as well as code deployments and change-based activities.
You will prioritise and diagnose incidents, by investigating causes of incidents and seeking resolution in conjunction with specialist support teams. You should have the ability to own an issue until a new owner has been found or the problem has been mitigated or resolved.
This role requires you to effectively utilise Incident, Problem and Change and Release Management, as well as automating and innovating via continuous improvement to enhance the services we provide for citizens.

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Blackpool or Newcastle whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.
Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £38,373
Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth over £10,000 per year.
Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time.
