About the role
We have a new opportunity for a Pensions Team Lead to join our team based in Grangemouth. This is a pivotal role in ensuring a full pro-active, professional and confidential pensionsadvisory service is provided to our employees.
As Pensions Team Lead, you will be responsible for supervising two Pensions Administrators, as well as offer direct support to the Pensions, Risk & Insurance Manager in the day to day running of the team. In addition, your responsibilities within this role will include:
1. Oversee complex pension administration tasks, ensuring all records are maintained and updated on the Mantle system
2. Oversee the process for member events, including retirements, deaths, early leavers, transfers out and illustrative quotations
3. Ensure Defined Benefit member data is accurate to meet the following statutory obligations: Triennial Valuation and Actuarial Reporting and IAS19 Accountancy disclosures
4. Ensure DB and DC member data is accurate to meet Group Life data requirements and monthly contribution audits.
5. Oversee the preparation of the monthly pension payroll
6. Support the team with complex pension queries, and offer coaching and training
7. Arrange for annual tasks to be completed within agreed timescales, including; Member benefit statements, annual pension increases, circulation of P60’s
8. Close liaison with the Group Pensions, Risk & Insurance Manager to meet member, Trustee and legal requirements.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced candidate with a strong background of working in a similar level position, or who is ready to take the next step up in their career. Additionally, we are looking for someone who has:
9. Strong experience of working with different occupational pension schemes and DB is essential
10. Minimum 5 years’ experience of working within a similar role – DB knowledge is key
11. Experience of working at Senior Administrator / Supervisor level would be ideal
12. Previous experience of working with Mantle Pensions system is advantageous but not essential
13. Excellent numeracy and IT skills are required, including Excel / MS suite
14. A great communicator – both within the team and to wider stakeholders
15. Ability to prioritise a busy workload, meet deadlines and disclosure requirements
