We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in a vibrant primary school in Consett. This is a full-time position where you will work closely with a student who requires additional support, helping them achieve their learning goals in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs (SEN), focusing on their individual learning and emotional well-being.
* Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet the pupil’s specific needs.
* Support the pupil in their personal, social, and academic development, fostering a positive and encouraging learning experience.
* Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive and focused learning atmosphere.
* Communicate regularly with parents, the SENCO, and other staff members to monitor and discuss the pupil’s progress.
* Encourage independence while providing appropriate guidance and support to help the pupil grow in confidence.
Requirements:
* A solid understanding of special educational needs and effective strategies to support them.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with both students and staff.
* Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
* The ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the pupil.
