We are now recruiting for a Trainee Slaughter Operatives interested in starting their career with us.
Starting pay rate: £11.44/h
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40-45hrs/week, 6am start
About the role:
* Learn the key principles of abattoir.
* Learn and identify different parts/by-products/cuts/joints of red meat.
* Carry out slaughter, breakdown, boning, filleting and trimming of red meat.
* Learn principles of processing red meat carcasses and by-products.
* Prepare tools and equipment for use.
* Sharpen and maintain cutting tools.
* Understand and maintain product quality.
* Learn and apply food safety and hygiene standards.
* Learn and apply health and safety standards.
* Any other duties as required by management and within the competency of the post holder.
Minimum Requirements:
* No previous experience in slaughter and/or knife skills required.
