About the Role
IMED Healthcare are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Buyer who will work as part of the buying department to optimise the overall purchasing performance for our UK/NI business while offering assistance to our Republic of Ireland EMP Business. Working alongside the head of our UK/NI division you will lead the Pharmacy Buying category and ensure the Company has a comprehensive product range at competitive prices to meet our growing customer requirements. We are looking for a detail oriented person who can work with autonomy and entrepreneurial spirit to really drive the business forward.
Responsibilities
* Lead on IMED ‘s purchasing of Branded/Generic/OTC medicines for the NI market.
* Build relationships with key suppliers to obtain current market information and help make informed purchasing decisions.
* Source new suppliers on a continual basis.
* Liaise with the sales department to ensure stock turn is maintained, minimise out-of-date products, and provide excess stock information.
* Monitor the performance of suppliers and products to ensure standards are met based on time, delivery, quality, quantity, and cost of suppliers.
* Conduct research on new products and licenses (prices, availability, and usage).
* Develop and support growth in the Company’s Unlicensed Medicines business in ROI.
Skills & Experience
At least 3 years of experience in purchasing and stock control within the Pharmaceutical Industry:
* Proven excellent negotiation and customer service skills displayed within a similar role in a Pharmacy or in Industry.
* Proven ability to work to clear procedures and SOPs in accordance with regulatory requirements
* Possess an excellent market understanding and awareness of any relevant changes, such as Windsor Framework, price changes, and new product launches.
* Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in purchasing.
* Experience within of buying finished PI and generics is highly advantageous.
* Full working knowledge of MS suite of applications particularly Excel.
