Anvil Arts is looking to appoint a part time Fundraising Manager. This post is assisted by 2-year investment from The Linbury Trust, working with the Chief Executive and trustees to develop and implement the fundraising strategy. As the first fundraising post in our 30 year history, there is the chance to have a significant impact on the whole organisation. The specific emphasis is on building relationships with trusts, foundations and other grant giving bodies at all scales, both local and national, increasing visibility of Anvil Arts to this sector and implementing a rolling programme of applications to support the full range of our activities, particularly the community engagement programme. It is envisaged as a management level position, with the role developing and implementing the fundraising strategy in conjunction with the Chief Executive and trustees. The specific emphasis is on building relationships with trusts, foundations and other grant-giving bodies at all scales, both local and national, increasing visibility of Anvil Arts to this sector and implementing a rolling programme of applications to support the full range of our activities. The post will also help to develop existing individual giving schemes. Fundraising activity to date has concentrated on setting up the Great Music of the World fund, which underwrites the costs of international orchestras in the concert series, and supporting the Musication Station, which attracts both public and corporate donations. Sponsorship in cash and kind is secured for a range of performances through the year including the pantomime. The Key Objectives of this role To research, develop and implement a sustainable programme of applications to suitable trusts and foundations To deliver income from trusts, foundations and other grant giving bodies to support the extensive range of Anvil Arts’ activities, meeting income targets set by the Chief Executive To help develop a fundraising strategy for the organisation, in conjunction with the Chief Executive To ensure all information is recorded in a suitable fundraising database accurately and in a timely manner Job Description – Specific · to be the organisational expert on fundraising, trusts and foundations, actively researching news and developments in the fundraising profession and grant-making sector, · to write and deliver persuasive, compelling, and effective funding proposals and applications, tailored to the agendas and criteria of each grant giving organisation approached · to research and develop a pipeline of prospective trusts, foundations, and other suitable bodies, ensuring it is well managed and with a programme of planned, active cultivation · to build and maintain relationships with key representatives of trusts and foundations, and increase their awareness and knowledge of the work of Anvil Arts · to work with colleagues to identify fundable elements of capital, core, programme and community engagement activity developing sustainable income streams for their long-term support · to develop a long-term legacy strategy alongside the Chief Executive and Marketing Manager. · To continue to develop the organisations individual giving streams · to act in accordance with best practice and the requirements of the Fundraising Regulator · to represent Anvil Arts at appropriate local, regional and national networks Recording and Administration · to maintain a detailed fundraising road map and ensure all information is up to date · to record all relevant information and activity in a suitable CRM package. Anvil Arts uses Spektrix as its box office system · to establish and manage appropriate systems to monitor, evaluate and report on projects funded by trusts and foundations, in accordance with deadlines Finance · to work with the Finance Team to ensure that all financial reporting, gift aid reporting and direct debit processing requirements are met · to keep accurate and timely records of all expenditure, adhering to financial procedures at all times Marketing and Communications · to work with the Marketing department, Press and Communications Officer and external PR agency as required to aid in the organisation’s external fundraising campaigns Events · to be responsible for the delivery and support of fundraising and sponsorship events in liaison with other departments · to ensure that relevant staff in other departments are aware of any event requirements, investment obligations or contractual terms which affect their areas of work · to act as an ambassador for and represent Anvil Arts at networking and other events as appropriate Job Description – General · to regularly review and adjust fundraising plans as appropriate · to occasionally work evening and weekends as required · to undertake any other duties as are reasonable and appropriate to this job description Relationships The Fundraising Manager is expected to: Maintain good professional relationships with, and provide excellence in service to: o Patrons, sponsors, funders, investors, board members, officers and members of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Arts Council England o Artists, companies, group organisers, teachers, audiences and all other individuals and organisations with whom Anvil Arts seeks to work Promote and maintain good working relationships throughout Anvil Arts, recognising the specific working practices of other departments in a diverse organisation.
