The ideal candidate will have extensive years of experience in the renewable energy sector with specific knowledge of land and property rights. This role is suited to an ambitious and energetic professional looking for an opportunity to develop their career in an exciting sector with an established and respected property consultancy. Being a strong team player is essential Our ideal candidate would have experience working in another consultancy or developer. This role principally involves advising landowners and developers on the land rights required for commercial-scale renewable energy projects, across all technologies. The role will involve negotiating commercial terms on behalf of landowners and investors to agree option and draft lease terms for projects, aswell as advising on ancillary property rights such as access, grid, habitat management. The role will include promoting land and evaluating offers, and may also involve site acquisition advisory, due diligence and valuation of projects (subject to experience and qualification). In addition, you will be expected to support the growing team of energy and renewables professionals, and actively promote business development initiatives. What you'll be doing: Serve as a trusted advisor to landowners and investors, advocating for their land and property in energy and renewables projects while safeguarding their interests throughout the project lifecycle. Perform site screening, feasibility studies, and appraisals, offering strategic development advice. Market land and sites to developers, assess offers, and negotiate terms to secure optimal outcomes. Negotiate agreements with developers and third-party landowners, including heads of terms, option and lease agreements, and access or utilities agreements, providing clients with detailed recommendations. Collaborate with colleagues, solicitors, accountants, and other professional advisors to deliver top-quality guidance to clients. Supervise and mentor junior team members, supporting their professional development. Assist the Head of Team in achieving business objectives, including budgeting and financial planning. Visit sites to evaluate potential, establish client relationships, meet developers, and manage projects to completion. Support team growth by developing business opportunities in the energy and renewables sector, including participating in marketing and public relations efforts and attending events and exhibitions. Stay current with professional development to ensure technical expertise and business acumen. Act as a resource for firm-wide colleagues by providing accurate, informed advice. About you: Relevant qualifications or experience in energy and renewables consultancy. MRICS certification and RICS Registered Valuer status (preferred but not essential). Proven experience in negotiating terms for energy and renewables projects. Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with GIS or other mapping software (preferred but not essential). Exceptional report-writing skills with strong attention to detail. Professional, approachable demeanor with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
