We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Operations Manager - Horticulture. You would be joining our team at Petersham Nurseries and will be responsible for driving sales performance, managing inventory, and ensuring daily operations run smoothly, all while delivering exceptional customer service. By leading and developing a motivated, well-trained team, you will ensure high standards are maintained across the nursery and garden shop, achieving sales targets and creating an inspiring shopping experience for our customers. Principal Accountabilities
SALES & CUSTOMER SERVICE
1. Achieve or exceed weekly, monthly, annual sales targets.
2. Provide and inspire the highest levels of customer service, always seeking and maximising sales opportunities.
3. Analyse the weekly and monthly performance of the store against the measures set (including attending at weekly buying/trade meetings and taking action to maximise both sales and consistent profit growth).
4. Build lasting customer relationships to deliver increased sales through effective up-selling and cross-selling.
5. Handle customer enquiries by phone efficiently and in a timely manner, including responding to positive and negative feedback.
6. Be an obvious presence throughout the nursery and garden shop, assessing opportunities for up-selling and cross-selling throughout the product range and supporting the team daily.
7. Contribute to the annual budget and adhere to OTB and aged stock, clearance and write-off processes.
8. Develop high competitor and market awareness, undertaking regular competitor shopping and reporting.
9. Support excellent customer service by providing store team training, and product and stock information as required accurately and quickly.
10. Work closely with the merchandising team and suppliers to ensure timely replenishment on best sellers and continuity lines and arrival of new lines on schedule.
11. Prepare yearly reserves with core suppliers.
12. Organise sufficiently to use online key supplier web shops to place orders for plants.

Qualifications:
Qualified to at least RHS Level 3 in Horticulture.
A clean driving license with the ability to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes.
